The Power of Children’s Books and Libraries: A wonderful visit

Today, I had the pleasure of visiting the magnificent Cosins Cathedral library, a treasure trove of history and knowledge. Stepping into this enchanting space filled with books from different eras was like opening a portal to a world of imagination and wonder. As I explored the library, I stumbled upon a heartwarming scene that captured the essence of education and the magic of books. Today was a special day for the new graduates of Durham University. I was fortunate to step back in time on this day as the library was almost empty apart from a recent graduate, accompanied by her proud parents, who was immersed in the library, her eyes flickering with curiosity and excitement. Inspired by this beautiful sight, I approached her and asked if I could take a photograph to commemorate this moment. With her gracious consent, I captured a breathtaking image that perfectly encapsulated the transformative power of education and the joy of reading. These photographs not only captured a personal memory but also ignited a deep contemplation within me about the profound impact children’s books can have on their future.
